How the call goes

Tell Paul the brand, the model if you know it, and what the machine is doing. He has seen it before. You will get a real answer on the spot - whether it is a van job, a workshop strip-down, or something a barista-side reset will fix in two minutes. No queue, no triage, no being passed to a junior on shift.

What honest pricing looks like

A breakdown call-out is quoted as the diagnosis fee, the parts (at fair markup), and the time on site. If Paul gets there and the fix is a five-minute reset, the bill reflects that. If it is a four-hour solenoid job, same. The point is the cafe is back running - upselling on a panic call is not the model.
